VSOP? Do you know what this means? We didn’t until…………….

The AWCS (Association of Women Chartered Secretaries) quiz night at Doggetts on Blackfriars Bridge last Thursday.

Hoping to be the winning team of the night, we brushed up on our general knowledge prior to the event. After the first round we were optimistic about our chances of winning as we’d achieved an 8/10 first round score.

However as the evening progressed it quickly became apparent that we were trailing behind the other teams. Not surprising, when you hear that we decided the Poodle was the most intelligent breed of dog…. duh! Everyone knows it’s a Border Collie!

The music rounds were particularly entertaining as everyone leapt to their feet to dance and sing for bonus points. (BTW this actually worked!)

A good night was had by all; there was plenty of food and drink (perhaps this is what distracted us) and even though we weren’t quite as intelligent as we thought, we had a lot of fun.

The final moment of comedy came when we heard that our team finished a respectful LAST. But we are good losers and our wooden spoons will come handy!!
