Not from where we are sitting!Despite the market slowdown we remain very busy and there is certainly no let up in the demand for Indirect Tax specialists. We are dealing with a number of first in-house appointments in a variety of different sectors. I guess it stands to reason that in tougher times businesses look to reduce cost and VAT can be a significant cost. The Big Four accountancy firms are being a little more cautious in their approach to recruitment - they are no longer as keen to see candidates on a speculative basis. That being said, they do have specific vacancies that they are keen to fill. The mid tier forms are still growing steadily and we have several vacancies with them around the country.
